This is the final post of 2023 here at The Medical Care Blog. To toast the year behind us we’ve compiled the year’s top 10 blog posts and highlighted some of the many milestones for our contributors and editorial team.
Once again, we want to recognize YOU–our amazing readers and contributors. Since our founding in 2014, our posts have reached more than 160,000 people. And with 20,000+ readers enjoying our work this year, we feel primed for an exciting 10-year anniversary in 2024!
Before we get to the top posts of the year, we want to share a few things:
- First, we said goodbye to founding co-editor and associate professor at Penn State, Jess Williams. She contributed so much to the intellectual breadth of this blog; just look at the range of posts and podcasts she authored. She was a pragmatic voice on our editorial team, and advocate of publishing student voices. Thank you again, Jess, for everything you did to create this amazing intellectual space!
- Second, when one door closes, another opens. We were lucky to add epidemiologist and assistant professor at the University of Houston, Ben King, to our editorial team. Already a prolific author at our blog, we tapped him to help shape the future direction of the blog, recruit more stellar authors, and share his writing talents with our community of contributors.
- Third, our Healthy Intersections podcast completed its second full calendar year. What began as computer-read transcriptions of our blog posts, grew and transformed into full, monthly video interviews with blog authors and blog-aligned researchers. You can find us at all your podcast sources, including Spotify!
We are really proud of the collective work we’ve done this year. And we hope you’ve enjoyed reading. Thank you for continuing to read and share these posts with your colleagues and friends!
Sincerely,
-Ben, Greg and Lisa
